The Mystery of Search Engines
What do search engines really look for? While this is a much debated topic, most experts agree on a short list of important factors search engines consider.
1. Title Tags. You need a relevant title and is one of the most important tags for your site.
2. Meta Description Tag. Use distinct description tags throughout your site, and unique ones for each page.
3. Keyword Metatags. Search engines check these to make sure they match the content and topic of a particular page.
4. Domain Name Registration Renewal Period. Make sure your site is registered for an extended period of time. It saves you money and tells search engines you have a stable business.
5. Link Popularity. How do other web pages point to your website? Are the links relevant? Are they considered valuable resources? Use only links that relate to your web site.
